Clara McMahon

Hi! My name is Clara and I'm a fifth year PhD student in linguistics at the Graduate Center, CUNY. My advisor is Irina Sekerina. I'm also an Adjunct Professor at SUNY New Paltz and a Graduate Center Fellow at Hunter College. 

 

I am a formal linguist focusing on structural and experimental properties of meaning. Specifically, I work at the syntax-semantics interface and in pragmatics using psycholinguistic methods. I also have an interest in cognitive science. Currently, my work is primarily on negation and aspect in Slavic languages.

I pronounce my name /'klɛɹə məkˈmæn/, but I accept all common variants of my name in English dialects and other languages.
